Why do we give?

“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things (Mt. 23:23).”

As Jesus tells us, giving is necessary, but what’s most vital is what we do with the gifts. Oak Park is a place committed to the “more important things.” When we give together, we bolster our ability to pursue justice, mercy, and faith in our church, our neighborhood, and our world.
